I’m pleased to offer lampworking and flameworking lessons and workshops in my glass studio. The studio is located at Erector Square, 315 Peck Street, Building 5 - Unit H, New Haven, Connecticut. Building 5 is to the right of Laurie’s Cafe. If you’d like to check the studio out give me a ring to see if I’m in and I’d be happy to show you around.
Lessons are offered individually or in small groups of up to 3 people. Areas covered range from lampwork bead making, flame worked pendants to marble making.
RATES:
Individual one on one is $60 a lesson.
Group is $40 per person per lesson.
Lessons run 1hour 15 minutes with 45 minutes studio time to practice what you have just learned, totaling 2 hours.
LAMPWORK BEADS
You will learn basic bead techniques & shapes, heat base and control, pulling a stringer, marvering. Safety, set up, types of glass & annealing. All materials are provided.
FLAMEWORKED PENDANTS
You will learn the basics of off mandrel flameworking. We will be making borosilicate pendants and learn how to make implosions and use punty’s. Safety, set up, types of glass & annealing. All materials are provided.
MARBLE MAKING
Learn the basics of marble making, learning how to use punty’s, mix colors. Safety, set up, types of glass & annealing. All materials are provided.
Lessons and Studio Time are currently offered on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays
STUDIO TIME BY THE HOUR
I offer studio time for you to work on your own creations. The price is $12.50 an hour and includes use of the torch and kiln. Studio time does not include glass or mandrels. I have glass and mandrels for sale or you can supply your own. Minimum of 2 hours.
