"Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. ...Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country." - George W. Bush Hermann Goering

911 Video
From Digg. "A video blogger has uploaded an unedited 30 minute video of the WTC attacks to Revver. It was filmed from their home 500 yards from the north tower. This is the first time this video has been publicly released."

Boro 101 Class
I'll be teaching a class December 3, 2006 at Tin City Art Glass. It'll be "Boro 101" Beginner class. Some soft glass experience is required, like knowing how to make a bead and feeling comfortable with glass and the torch.

Back in the swing of things....
I've been sick for the last few weeks (seems like forever!) and haven't really gone near the torch for more than a few minutes at a time, nor had the energy to do much besides rest and sleep. I'm feeling a lot better today and hope to get some torch time in this weekend to make some bead sets and maybe some sculptural stuff, or marbles, or......There's so much I want to do! Ah well, patience Grasshopper.

The hard drive on my powerbook died a couple of weeks ago, got it fixed, ordered a new MacBook Pro, hard drive on that crapped out a couple of days ago, fixed it, so hopefully all is well again with my computers. It's a good thing I had just done a full backup on the powerbook.

Shipping success!
The Damselfly I shipped last week arrived in one piece! I have two for sale that I'll post up here very soon in a new section, just have to goto the paypal website and get a button or something.

Flying Damsels
I mailed off a Damsel today packed in polyfill. Now to see if it makes it safely to it's destination. Keeps fingers and toes crossed. If it does I'll post a few to sell online, if not then they're available at Rock Garden. Should know by the end of the week.

Bullseye
I was rummaging through my glass and I found a box of Bullseye dichroic that I had bought years ago and never used! I have a lot of Bullseye odd color rods and have never really done anything with them since I've been really concentrating on borosilicate glass instead. So today I made some dichroic wings and a dragonfly with the Bullseye and I'm in love with it. So much nicer to work than Moretti for sculptural pieces.. I'll take pics if it survives the kiln.

The Weather
Still feeling under the weather, but I seem to be on top of it.
It was really nice to meet Tink and John last night, they've been teaching this weekend at Tin City. I just love her work!
